Blogrimage Challenge Day 13/30 DETROIT 72nd Floor

Jaleb Gillman, Nataly Nogoy and I had always planned on going on a trip to Detroit to hang out together! SO it worked out that Saturday would work great!  It was a fun filled day. Had Jen and Matt Foss's baby shower, my date in Detroit and work in Detroit after. Quite the adventure.

I was on my way to Detroit to pick up Nataly and we would meet up Jaleb.  I don't have GPS or an iphone anymore and my ipod only works in wifi.  So I called Nataly to get directions to her school.  We met up around 5pm and I was so excited.  As we waited for Jaleb we got to catch up and talk and just talked life and recent life changes. Nataly had just driven back from Florida in Panama City which she got to evangelize with some people from her school (GO GIRL!) I got to hear that and just how she was doing.

Jaleb met us at Starbucks on Woodward.  The way he was coming the freeway was closed so he had to take a detour and meet up a little later.  No time was wasted.  We parked there and Nataly had some coffee :) They asked me what I wanted to eat and I asked if they had a preference.  I love Asian food so Nataly suggested Wasabi.

Jaleb decided to drive us and Nataly navigated us :)  Loved the view.  It was great because believe it or not it was pretty quiet not a lot of traffic and just was awesome.

We got to Wasabi. It looked cool when we got in there. We had no idea what we would order.  Nataly had some Wasabi Shumai-Steamed wasabi-flavored pork dumplings. I ordered  Bibimbab - Assorted vegetables over rice with beef and fried egg served with Korean hot paste on the side.  I think Jaleb had Seafood Yaki Soba- Pan-friend noodles with shrimp, scallops and fresh vegetables.  Anyway we all split the food because mine ended up being  massive bowl of food.  I still have left overs.  We ate with chopsticks (some of us didn't know how to use them...haha but I refreshed their memory hahaha).

We talked about life and God and just caught up I loved hearing about their lives and family life and what their doing. The Lord's time is never wasted :) It's preparation.  We encouraged each other in where we are now in the now and to be able to rely on God.

Time flew by and we just laughed and talked, I told them I had photo gig to do work at in the Renaissance city at coach insignia.  Those words meant nothing to me. But Nataly was like no way that is the best restaurant view of the city and it actually used to rotate while people eat so you can see it all it is great! SO that just made me really excited.

I thought it would be a good idea to take Jaleb along to finish up the night.   I didn't know my way around the city to well so Jaleb drove and led the way and I told  him he could come up to see while my co workers and I set up. It was a cool drive I followed in my car and I never seen so many cool lights I love looking at all the signs Fox theatre and Hard Rock Cafe, other places so sweet!  I called for directions and all and so it ended up being we got free valet parking and then because of camera gear we got the basement tour and ended up in Coach Insignia it was such a great view! I thought it would be cool if he could come with so he could experience it too!  So glad he came he would have totally missed out. Plus it was on the 72nd foor! Jaleb helped my co workers and I unload our gear fro mteh trolly. Hung out for a bit he scoped out the place while I worked.  It was great. He headeed out and I had to stay and work a party so yeah that's all folks.

Blogrimage Challenge Day 12/30 Shot A GUN!

Never before have I held or seen a gun in real life.  Friday was a pretty chilly day and rainy.  I got to hang out with Ryan Issac a friend and band member at Momentum at Cornerstone Church in Highland.

He came to pick me up at the Kalowick residence.  I was just getting ready to nap.  While I grabbed my stuff.  My "mom" Cary Kalowick that Ryan was here for Suzy.  so because parents like to do background check on friends who are guys she  opened the door and told Ryan "which one are you" ( I had no idea until I got home after dinner time we were laughing so hard in the kitchen) she felt bad but it made sense both ways to look out for me and her own daughter of course :D Go Cary! haha

So as we headed out we were both semi casually dressed Ryan says  we are going to the Gun Range near Ann Arbor! I was just shocked and excited at the same time! I love to try new things and thought it would be great!  We went there first because they were only open til 7pm so we would have some time (plus the drive).

Getting there I had to go through the process and quick guidelines to going into the back to shoot.  This was real I'm about to shoot a gun at a target! Whoah! I debated of getting  a target that had Asama bid laden as a target but just when whit the black and orange one.  Ryan showed me how to load the gun, the safety, and how to hold it.  I felt so cool like charlies angel! haha...

There were other people in there and while having my safety glasses and ear muffs on I heard the gunshots and just jumped every time I heard it go off! It was a bit intimidating! Guns are no joke and I thought why do people do this for recreation?  I'm not a huge supporter of guns but I understand the need for safety in some cases and sport.

I got to shoot up a target never got a bulls eye but maybe some other time.  I actually missed and shot the clip hanging the target. First thing the lad y told me was don't shoot this, people like to shoot shiny things. I just thought I had pretty good aim shooting the clip that was small (even though it wasn't on purpose).

It was fun and had Asian when we left so some hole in the wall restaurant in Ann Arbor.  It was good.

Blogrimage Challenge Day 10/30 BWW

Hey friends,

So my new friend Paul Silvestri saw my blog on our 30 Day blogrimage friends and co-worker of Micha Webner.  He messaged me and decided to set something up that worked with our schedule.  We set out to meet at Buffalo Wild Wings in Novi, one of his favorite places.

I learned a lot about Paul and he is a Senior at Eastern Michigan Universtiy studying Technology Management.  He works with Micha at Henry Ford Community College.  I asked him why he decided to do what he does and he just loves computers and wanted to pursue a career in that.  Web developing is no joke.  I told him one day when my small business is in order I would need to hire someone who knows what they are doing because it is super hard and complicated to me especially to be customized and get the feel and style I want.

We talked about school, work, church, and family.  I was so hungry because I skipped lunch so it was funny because I finished my meal before he did!!! I'm usually a slow eater but I was sooo hungry hahaha.  We laughed because he told me story of a girl who had gone out to eat with him and she was upset that he finished before her so yeah funny...

Anyway dinner was great and the sun was still shining. So I was sitting in the booth behind a family who had like four kids and the mom and dad.  I was wondering who kept hitting the seat behind me with their feet (I kept hearing a thumping noise).  It was a little annoying at first but I didn't let it bother me.  Anyway right before we left the kids started to sing Happy Birthday to their dad and I looked back and smiled with the little girls it was great way to end the night I wanted to clap and cheer with them. Hahaha one of their little boys started shouting "Are you 1, are you 2," etc. haha so cute.

It was fun I thanked Paul for my filling meal.

Blogrimage Challenge Day 9/30 iiwii

Okay so Tuesday on March 12th 2013 I did not have a date set.  I don't know what you all think but for me it was a good thing.

I realize how much goes into this and it is a lot of work, and can be stressful but because I decided to not make it a priority I'm not gonna kill myself to go on dates. :) I am absolutely trying and I failed already to meet the actual goal but again it's not a big deal.

I am asking my friends from church and school to set me up and if it works out then cool if not then okay too :D "iiwii" It is what it is.  I don't really want to control it in the sense that I don't like asking guys out it is uncomfortable and that is where I draw the line.

This is meant to be a fun, crazy, and adventurous blog and I'm just gonna go with the flow.  I really like that I have gotten to meet new people, learn something and catch up with old friends.

My Tuesday night ended in the best way any how! I got to hear Dominic and Lindsay Russo speak at Momentum at Cornerstone Church in Highland!!!  It's an 18+ God party and am surrounded by awesome people who I love and am glad to serve alongside of.

It was a GREAT message on a relationship series that was ended in February but because of a winter storm was rescheduled.  I really learned a lot Dominic talked to the guys 5 things girls look for in a guy and Lindsay to the girls things that we should do be Godly women and if we are with the right guy who will  be our husbands ways that we should be as well to honor God and our future spouses.

Follow up for more there are a few dates this week and just am looking for more dates let me know set me up hahaha...

Blogrimage Challenge Day 8/30 Skype

Hey,

So I got to chat it up over Skype with my friend I met on Haiti missions.  Shae Jones.  I had put it on my page and he asked if Skype was okay? I thought why not?

So it got late after work and I called up Shae on Skype.  We talked so much we had lots to catch up on.  Anyway I loved that we got to talking about really relying on The Lord to have complete control in our lives.  He has recently moved to New Hampshire from Maine to fulfill God's call on his life and he has trusted God through it all and God has totally been providing for him supernaturally.

I was glad to hear that sometimes as Christians we need to hear other ways God is moving if we just obey. I'm glad I got to talk to my friend Shae it really just encouraged me to trust in The Lord with everything and the call He has in my life and to not be discouraged.

We talked about life and there was a funny story he told me that on the way back from our missions trip in Haiti he had dinner with I believe Pastor Tim Forsthoff and after paying for their meal and getting to the terminal he was supposed to leave in 8 minutes he almost missed his flight! And he had already used up all his spending money at dinner for everyone else.  He said he ran like crazy because he would have been stranded in the airport in  Florida ( that would have been bad).

Great to catch up with a friend and hear what God is doing in his life great encouragement.

Blogrimage Challenge Day 7/30 Starbucks

Hi again!

So I was able to go out after a busy weekend with my family and meet up with Ben foreman.  We met up at Starbucks coffee in Milford.  I got to order their new hazelnut specialty drink and Ben ordered an apple cider his usual (says he's not huge coffee buff too many to choose from haha).  Let me tell you our guy who took the order had no smile on his face and I tried to be nice but he didn't seem to care.  I just laughed.

So we got to talking about our life and how the Lord is just leading us in the place that we need to be now.  And for some reason I felt super chatty but Ben was a great listener. (sorry Ben).  We talked about me moving on to a new place in Denver, CO!! Thrive Church baby!! hahaha.  Just the fight I have been dealing with spiritually, emotionally and physically but God is totally preparing me!

I got to ask him more about him and his family and their relationship. Ben is the youngest of 5 (I hope that's right) well he has a pretty decent family and lots of nieces and nephews.  I asked him about what he had been doing besides going to Momentum and he had gone through an internship at another church which is great. (kind of like the IMA).

It was good friend time at Starbucks and my drink was great got to use my lens mug that I got for Christmas!

Sorry again no photo :/ I keep forgetting

Untill next time!

Blogrimage Challenge Day 6/30 Brotherly Sisterly Love

Hey friends,

I hung out with some of the most important guys in my life my DAD and my younger BROTHER Andrew! He just turned 20 and I wanted to surprise him with a cake and I also had to be in town for a child dedication friend of the family (very important to be there :))

It was a quick trip. I went home Saturday afternoon.  I arrived home to see my dad working on his car with one of his best freinds Barney.  I gave him a big hug and went inside.  My brother Andrew came down and said hi and hugged me too!! :D xoxox lil bro! I took my brother to get him lunch (he and his cousin had work) Andrew payed for it, his little ceasars pizza (yuck...hahaha).  I dropped him off for work and went home to bake a family favorite cake just for him.  My dad and I got to spend time together went to the store and also to get his haircut! (I didn't realize his hair got so long till he buzzed most of it off). My dad likes his hair short.

I got to baking and watching some ABCFamily movies while my dad rested, he had worked most of the day too.  I got the cake ready took a few hours cause it had to cool before I put the cool whip on it.  I told my dad I had to go pick up Andrew and my cousin JR from work to have the candles lit when we pulled in.  Needless to say he wasn't quite ready when we walked in (only about 10 more candles needed lighting) So as my brother Andrew saw his cake I'm glad he smiled and waited to blow out his 20 birthday candles!  I told him his birthday present will come in the mail!  I made his favorite pasta alfredo with chicken for a late dinner.

We went to church Sunday morning and my dad made me french toast for breakfast! It was great few hours I got to spend! I love them so much!  Best date ever!

Blogrimage Challenge Day 5/30 MJR

Alright let me start off by saying that I made the plan to go see a movie becuase Jessica and Jack Kerr invited me along with Sarah Lukacs :D

So through various text and hearing about my blog Ellie Nickerson told me she had a date for me.  It was her brother Drew Nickerson.  It was not set at all untill just Thursday night. It was a bit of a close call.

We went with a group to see The Great and Powerful Oz starring James Franco. Just came out March 8th.

So I got in contact with Drew and we set the plans (good thing I had an idea of what I wanted to do hahaha).  We met up at the Highland liquor store to carpool to the MJR theatre in Waterford.  So he introduced himself to me with a handshake as we left to MJR. On the way he asked me how I met his sister and family, about school, and talked a little bit about cars. Of course I asked him about how his day was and where he worked. I might have to go to the chinese restaurant he works at as a server! I love chinese and I told him I loved my old serving job.

We thought it might be packed so we left around 5:45pm the movie started at 6:45pm. (he was just getting back from getting his tire fixed and oil change which is totally fine he called right away to say he would be late).  I killed the time by cleaning and vacumming my car out at the Citgo gas staion next door hahaha.

We got to the theatre there were probably about 5 people actually standing in line to wait hahaha not as popular as I thought.  He bought the tickets and got our 3D glasses and we waited for the Kerr Family and Sarah to meet us.  We got to talk a bit more waiting for the doors to open and find our seats.

We got along great and the theatre ended up being packed and we had great seats.  The movie I personally was good, family funny and friendly.  Got to finding out during the previews Robert Downing Jr. is one of his favorite actors (man crush...hahaha...he said it :)  But he is a good actor!

So by the end Sarah had gotten Drew to agree to be a part of her blog too if she would let her slap him in the face.  He agreed and so did Jack's grandpa!!! You guys need to watch it on Sarah's video blog!  We made a story plot where Drew was talking to me and Sarah taps him on the shoulder and just slaps him! And Jacks grandpa was totally funny he was holding his wife's purse while she went to the bathroom and Sarah slaps him and he yelled out something like hey you can't do that what did I do? He was kidding hahaha and we didn't realize he was holding his wifes purse untill after so the nhe said oh I guess I do look like the bad guy....hahaha, Jack, Jess, Sarah, Drew and I had a great laugh!

Well Drew dropped me back off at my car and glad he could make it last minute .  He was actually debating to not go because one it was blind date and two it was a movie (double negative hahaha I joked with him) But Ellie convinced him and then it was funny because he actually had seen me at Kroger earlier this week too so he tried to remember who I was. It was a a fun time with friends.

It was a good Friday

PS I'm so sorry totally forgot to take another picture!

Blogrimage Challenge Day 4/30 BWWs

Hello

So for my Thurday evening "date" I got to hang out with Eric Kelley.  We went out to Buffalo Wild Wings. Had the chicken wrap and was very filling!  I actually decided to play a little dumb and ask my waitress if they had BEEF WINGS!!?? What? She said "We have chicken wings, I don't think those exist" Hahahaha I just did it for a laugh and see what she would say, she was a nice lady. I actually didn't think about leaving a tip... (I wasn't the one paying).

On the way to dinner Eric and I talked about life and where The Lord is leading us in our journey's ahead... We carried the conversation over through dinner and on the way home.  He also asked me a short version of my testimony... which I don't get very often so I was glad to share it with new purpose in what God has put on my heart in the last year.

He actually asked what I expected out of this and if there were any "special" someones, who I wanted to "date". But in all reality no I didn't expect anything out of this, or anyone specific.  I really love just getting to know new people and talk about life and have a good laugh; like a meet and greet is how I explained :)

It was a good chill time at BWW and got to know a little more about who Eric is and how he got into the whole tech, lights, media department.  We talked, about life, family, and my big family hahaha... (it's cause my grandma had 7 kids and my great grandma had like 11 or 14 kids, and that's just my moms side) It's always fun to share good ole family stories (made me miss them a lot though!!!!)

He asked what is one of the craziest things I've ever done? If you really want to know I'll tell you in person ;) Eric said his was  driving down Ford Rd 140mph a little while back... I thought woah wow that is pretty extreme (he kind of stated it wasn't his proudest moment).

Eric was a great gentlemen open the door and all but it was great getting to know another friend from church and to listen to him talk about what God is doing in his life. Keep it up Eric I'll be praying for you.

Oh and I totally forgot to take a picture ( just to focused on converstaion... and getting to Debbie B. for girls night hahaha jk)

Blogrimage Challenge Day 3/30 Crust

Early bird special this morning Rick Lundskow took me to a quaint little pastry shop called Crust they have been in business for a little over 1 year! It was a great place: 104 W Caroline St, Fenton, MI 48430 This place is legit! Ladies I highly recommend it for breakfast or an awesome dessert night with a special someone or if you just love sweets they have a great variety. (it was hard to pick!)

We decided to meet up at 8am! I'm glad I got a good nights sleep... I actually was there at 8:02am and I apologized to Rick but luckily he said it's fine two minutes is not late 20 minutes is late... I thought all is good :)

Neither of us had been there so I asked the lady what sold best? They had a great cinnamon pecan roll of some sort. (I wasn't feeling it) From the moment we walked in I spotted the Shamrock Mint Chocolate Cupcake...I thought it came in a mini chocolate bowl :( but it was just a paper for decoration (I was disappointed... haha) But it tasted great! I believe our cashier said that time is short so why not have a cupcake for breakfast. I thought it's March and green is my favorite color why not? Haha it was a good choice either way. Rick had a raspberry scone. We both had some tea I had a Rainforest spice flavor and his was an African tea flavor.

I just have to say one thing as I got to the place Rick came up to my car door and as soon as I opened the door I  thought I am so glad he wasn't standing any closer I wasn't looking and I would have hit him with the door (just a funny thought that ran through my head) it would have been funny just sayin!

Anyway we had a great conversation and talked about our stories how we got to the good ole state of Michigan! We talked a little bit about our phones, family memories/stories.

Ladies Rick loves to cook and I asked him about why/how he got into cooking it's great started off as mom only cooking dinners (that meant making own lunch) but then a family tradition with thanksgiving that meant staying up 24hours to help their mom in the morning and eventually in college he had to cook for himself.

I already new a few things going in because he works at Cornerstone Church in Highland for media/video department. I got to learn a few new things about his story. Very talented and loves what he does and it's for the Lord.

All in all a good way to start off my day and he was a gentlemen opened the door and all.

Okay keep following for more photo and story updates everyday!

Blogrimage Challenge Day 2/30 Big B

Okay guys today I didn't get stood up...

Today my date was Derek Szelong he told me he wanted to be called Bob TheTomato if I didn't use his name, but I told him that I was going to (onlybecause he said it was okay.)

Derek took me out for some tea at one of my favorite places in Hartland, MIcalled Biggby owned by the Bogues family
11325 Highland Rd, Hartland, 48353

You should go if you live near, they have the best service! Plus I keepinviting them all to Momentum some of the employees are older but young atheart as one told me today :)

Derek bought me some hot cinnamonspice tea.
We got to talking and I found out that Derek currently has a small horse ranchat his home!  About 10 of them.  I love horses.  He also likes DOCTOR WHO (only some of youwill know that it's one of the best shows ever!!!!)

Derek actually has studiedsome theology classes at our church at Cornerstone Church in Highland.  Ifhe ever decides to take out a school loan he wants to go back and study EquineManagement which I think is awesome cause horses are beautiful.  Plus hewants to start up like a camp for troubled teens to be able to interact withhorses because sometimes teens go through traumatic experiences andthey would be able to go to this place to get away from the crazy world.

Lucky for him I already ate dinner hahaha... He picked himself up some Little Caesars Pizza on the way to my absolutemost favorite place in East Michigan. MOMENTUM (iammomentum.com) 18+ God Party! We both had to be there for practice at 6pm so it was great timing.

Thanks Derek for a good evening at Biggby I enjoyed getting to know a little more about my fellow momentum goer.

Alright Night Peeps...

Blogrimage Challenge Day 1/30 Stood Up

Okay friends before I get started with the short details I was given full permission to explain the story about what happened on my first date... This person will remain anonymous and I will refer to him as Larry The Cucumber ("gotta keep life interesting" -N.K.K.) ...  Larry The Cucumber and I talked it out and are still friends (no one was harmed in the creation of this date) :D

Pradeepan Jeeva set out to find me my first week of dates since it was a last minute change.  Larry The Cucumber was a little hesitant to be the first date.  But I guess feeling the pressure he said yes for the beginning of my 30 day journey.

So today he was trying to figure out what to do and where to go. I was in class all day. :)  I got home made a light dinner and had some great healthy snacks ;)

Meanwhile Larry The Cucumber was having second thoughts.  He was debating to come come and pick me up.  He finally called me to explain his dilemma. He thought that this would be a good idea but realized that it would not work in his favor because he is already pursuing a special someone.

I simply told him that it was okay and it was understandable. :) He felt really bad but basically...

I got stood up.

"Guess you don't need 10 days to lose a guy" -N.K.K.

I have 29 more days and 29 more guys left... life is good.

Please continue to await my crazy journey challenge till the end of the month more stories and photos to come!
